Mick Snyder Indy NHRA Divisional Pre Race
Snyder Heads to the Home State Track
Mick Snyder and the Powersource Transportation team roll into Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Raceway, located just a couple hours from the Snyder Motorsports World Head Quarters, for the NHRA Division 3 Season Opener this weekend. The Northern Indiana based team is ready to get their ¼ mile season started at their home state’s track. Their innovative Supercharged, ComSyncEFI, Lencodrive Racing Transmission combination netted two final round appearances with one win and a few number one qualifiers last year. Snyder and the 5-time Season Championship Team are looking for a big outing at the “Big Go” facility. The Spring Spectacular of Speed at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana will run from April 29th through May 1st with aThursday Test Session and a Top Sportsman Fast Four on Saturday.
“We are excited to get the Orange Menace back on the track and even more excited to be close to home. It’s always nice to have family and friends come to the track and experience what we love. We have a lot of excitement in the Snyder Motorsports - Powersource Transportation pits this weekend at Indy. Our ComSyncEFI Engine Fuel Ignition Management now has Bluetooth, so I will no longer be tied to a cable when making changes to our electronic fuel system or our coil pack ignition. This is pretty exciting for me.” Snyder continued, “Plus, NHRA Division 3 and DRE are having a Fast Four for Top Sportsman and Top Dragster on Saturday night. My Sister, Shanna, and Troy Stone’s Vintage Trailers Dragster with a Snyder Motorsports Lencodrive is the defending champ in the Top Dragster Fast Four. It would be really cool if we could both qualify for the Fast Four this weekend. And, it’s always nice to have two shots at winning something over the weekend. It should be a great weekend with a lot of family and friends.”
“Earlier this month, we were at the PDRA Spring Nationals in Rockingham, NC. We qualified a stout second in the quickest PDRA Top Sportsman field ever, but fell second round due to some tire shake. We are looking to improve a spot in qualifying and go a few more rounds at this race. The plan is to test on Thursday and get our car happier,” Snyder smiled. “We have a really fast Powersource Transportation Vette with this ComSyncEFI,Snyder Lencodrive combo, but we have struggled a little on the consistency side. We made a few changes since Rockingham, now we get to see if we were right."
“I have been racing at Indy since the Junior Dragster days,” stated the 24-season veteran. “I can’t wait to get the NHRA part of this season started and go a little quarter mile racing. And, it’s always nice to race at a familiar track.” The first of 3 rounds of qualifying for the NHRA Spring Spectacular of Speed begins on Friday at 3:45 PM. Qualifying continues on Saturday with two more chances to make the 32-car field at 12:30 and 4:30, as well as a Quick Four Eliminations at 4:00 and 6:00 for the Top 4 Top Sportsman Qualifiers. Final eliminations will begin on Sunday at 10:00 AM. For up to date information please log onto www.dragracecentral.com
