Mick Snyder PDRA Indy Post Race
Snyder Scores Semis at Home Track
Mick Snyder and the Powersource Transportation Team traveled just a couple short hours to Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis for the PDRA Mid-America Shootout. This was just the 3rd stop of the 2017 season for the reigning NHRA Division 3 Top Sportsman Champions. The 6-time Season Champs and their unconventional Supercharged, ComSyncEFI Top Sportsman combination gained a lot of exposure and posted some near combination best numbers on their way to a Number 3 Qualifying Position in some rather hot conditions. During final eliminations, the team fell just short during the semifinals in a good old drag race. While the team fell short of hoisting the hardware, the weekend was not without successes both on and off the track.
“It was a great weekend for the Powersource Transportation Team at Lucas Oil Raceway. We were able to run some great numbers in the heat, go some rounds, get our racecar back to happy and promote a great organization, Protect the Harvest. It was a lot of fun this weekend, but that happens when win lights are turning your way, the car is making nice passes and the family is altogether. We also made some changes to the car during our month and a half break and the car responded. Every pass this weekend was fast, clean and pretty consistent,” Snyder stated. “Snyder Motorsports has a lot going on at the shop right now, building blown Snyder Hemi Engines, Lencodrive Transmissions, a complete ComSyncEFI install and sending out parts to our customers. With engines heading out the door and the next race less than a week away, it is going to be a hectic week at Snyder Motorsports.”
During qualifying, the Powersource Transportation Corvette ran an impressive 3.903 seconds and 188.44 miles per hour to put them third on the qualifying sheet. Snyder took the win in the opening round of competition with a lifting 4.007 at 170.71 mph effort. In the second round, Snyder took the win with a 3.975 at 185.38 mph and a double O light. During the round of four, Snyder crossed the finish line second by a few feet in a 3.950 at 185.56 losing effort.
“We go back to the NHRA and quarter mile racing at the next one. With our racecar back to performing, I’m excited to see what we can do at the Arches,” Snyder smiled. The next event on the 2017 Snyder Motorsports Powersource Transportation Schedule is the NHRA All-American Hot Rod Showdown on July 21 and 22 at Gateway International Raceway.
