Snyder Top Qualifier at the Arch
For their first NHRA national event in six years, Mick Snyder and the Powersource Transportation Team traveled to Gateway Motorsports Park for the NHRA Midwest Nationals. The 4-time Season Champs and their unconventional supercharged, electric fuel injected Top Sportsman combination gained a lot of exposure and posted combination best numbers. While the eliminations could have gone better, it was still a successful trip back to the quarter mile and the NHRA national event scene for the Snyder Motorsports Orange Menace team.
After the first day of qualifying, the Powersource Transportation Corvette ran a booming 6.264 to put them in the provisional number one spot on Friday. The second day of qualifying the team improved to a 6.226 at 227.92, a new combination best ET and mile per hour, on its way to the number one qualifying spot. In the first round of eliminations, Snyder had a losing package with the 6.266 at 226.77 mph effort.
“It was a good weekend for the Powersource Transportation Team. Anytime you are running best numbers and qualifying at the top with a new, unique combination you can’t complain. With that said, we really would have liked to go a few rounds here. I put too many numbers in the box and the car rattled the tires a little, we are better than that. We just need a few more laps to get a good NHRA set up dialed in. But that’s racing, we have one more PDRA race on the schedule, so we get a chance to redeem ourselves before the off season,” Snyder laughed.
“All and all, we leave here with our new combination running best numbers. We are learning more with each race, and we are gaining exposure for our Lencodrive Transmissions, VED Hemi Heads and ComSyncEFI system.” Snyder continued, “With all the buzz around this deal, it should be an exciting off-season. We had quite a few people stop by and check out our new deal this weekend.”
The final event on the Snyder Motorsports Powersource Transportation Schedule is the PDRA World Finals on October 22-24 at Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg, VA.
