Mick Snyder St. Louis NHRA Post Race

Snyder Semis at St. Louis and takes Top Qualifying Spot

At the fifth NHRA North Central Lucas Oil Divisional of 2016, Mick Snyder and the Powersource Transportation Team traveled to Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis for the NHRA All-American Hot Rod Showdown.  The 5-time Season Champs and their unconventional Supercharged, ComSyncEFI Top Sportsman combination gained a lot of exposure and posted some near combination best numbers on their way to the Number 1 Qualifying Position in some extreme heat conditions.  During final eliminations, the team fell just short during the semifinals with a wild pass.  While the team fell short of hoisting the Wally, the weekend was not without successes.

“It was a great weekend for the Powersource Transportation Team at the Arch.  We went some rounds and kept it exciting with some unintentional stunt driving a couple passes.  We had a lot of fun this weekend, but that happens when win lights are turning your way and the family is all together.  We also made some changes to the engine program during our month and a half break, and the car seems to be a little quicker,” Snyder stated.  “Snyder Motorsports has a lot going on at the shop right now, building blown Hemi engines and Lencodrive transmissions and sending out parts to our customers.  With the next race less than a week away, it is going to be a hectic week at Snyder Motorsports.”

During qualifying, the Powersource Transportation Corvette ran an impressive 6.177 seconds and 230.69 miles per hour to put them first on the qualifying sheet.  Snyder took the win in the opening round of competition with a lifting 6.208 at 211.63 mph effort.  In the second round, Snyder had the winning package with the hole shot and a coasting 6.171 at 222.44 to take the stripe at the quarter mile.  Snyder put together a 9 thousandths package in the quarterfinals with a perfect light and the 6.159 at 230.29 mph pass.  During the semifinals, Snyder got out of the groove for an off pace 6.203 in the losing effort.

“We go back to the PDRA, faster competition and eighth mile racing at the next one.  We will also be defending event champs, which is always a little more fun,” Snyder smiled.  The next event on the 2016 Snyder Motorsports Powersource Transportation Schedule is the PDRA Memphis Drags on August 12 and 13 at Memphis International Raceway.
