Mick Snyder Virginia PDRA Finals Pre Race

Snyder Eyeing the Top 10 at the Finals

As the PDRA heads into it’s last race of the 2015 season, Mick Snyder and the Powersource Transportation team roll into Virginia Motorsports Park excited for the possibilities that come with the PDRA World Finals.  This marks the seventh and final race for the Snyder Motorsports’ Supercharged, ComSyncEFI Top Sportsman Corvette, which attended a combination of PDRA, NHRA and exhibition races though out the last half of the season.  The 5-time Season Champs got a late start to the year, but they managed to pack in some success with two number one qualifiers, the latest coming at the NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park, a runner up finish in the last PDRA race at Rockingham Dragway, and a win at the PDRA Memphis Drags.  With a strong finish this weekend, October 23 and 24, at the Dinwiddie, VA facility, the team could move into the Top 10 of the final PDRA Points Standings for the ultra-competitive Top Sportsman class.

“The Top 10 in points never even crossed our minds when we débuted this new ComSyncEFI combination in Memphis, but with only two PDRA races under our belts, it is a possibility.  What was seen as just a testing year has been both a testing year and a successful season or half season in this case. If we can keep this season’s momentum going, our team could be ordering some new numbers for the window of our Powersource Transportation ride over the winter.  In a class like Top Sportsman, where low ET doesn’t necessarily matter, it’s pretty exciting,” Snyder smiled.  “The Virginia track has been good to our Snyder Motorsports team over the years.  Sometimes I feel like a broken record when we talk about different tracks, but when you drag race on national tour across three decades you are bound to have success somewhere.  We have been extremely blessed.”

“This marks the last race of the season for our Snyder Motorsports - Powersource Transportation Supercharged, EFI Top Sportsman team.  While we had a shortened competition schedule, Snyder Motorsports still attended both NHRA and PDRA races since the beginning of the season helping costumers, testing ideas and pedalin’ parts.  I would love to make passes all year round, but I am excited for the off-season, as well.” Snyder explained, “The winter break gives race teams time to evaluate their programs, make changes, send off parts to get freshened up and get geared up and stocked up for the 2016 season.  While I think it might be a busier than usual off-season for us with the success of ComSyncEFI, Snyder Motorsports uses the off-season to evaluate our business, expand our product lines, grow our customer base and make improvements.  We have a lot of “new” in store for our customers this off-season.  It should be pretty exciting.  I know I’m excited.”

The first of 3 rounds of qualifying for the PDRA World Finals begins on Friday at 10:30 AM.  Qualifying continues on Saturday with a fourth and final chance to make the 16 car field beginning at 11:00 AM and final eliminations begin at 4 PM.  For up to date information please log onto www.dragracecentral.com
