Snyder Looks to Keep the Momentum Going at Gateway

Mick Snyder and the Powersource Transportation Team haul to the Arch for their sixth race of the season.  This is the Snyder Motorsports Team’s second trip to the famed Gateway Motorsports Park facility this year.   With their late start to the 2015 season, the 4-time Season Champs débuted their new Supercharged, Electronic Fuel Injected Top Sportsman Combination at the Divisional here in early August.  This season has proved to be a successful one with a Number 1 Qualifier here at the Divisional, a Win at the PDRA Memphis Drags and a final round appearance in their last outing, PDRA Dragstock at Rockingham Dragway.  The former Top Alcohol Funny Car pilot is hoping to keep the momentum going as he competes in his first NHRA National Event in 6 years.   Snyder is looking forward to getting back to some quarter mile action at the NHRA AAA Insurance Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park near St.Louis, MO on September 25-27.

“It has been a great start to the season for the Snyder Motorsports team.  We are just a handful of races into the season with a completely new combination, and we have already had great success.  New best numbers come easy with a new combination, but to already have a number one qualifier, a win and a runner-up under our belts this soon is unreal.  This ComSyncEFI Engine Management and these VED Hemi Heads are pretty amazing to say the least,” Snyder explained.  “We consistently dipped into the threes at the last PDRA race, so that should make us a contender for the number one spot quarter mile racing here at the NHRA Nationals.  I’m excited to see what this mix of new Supercharged, Electronic Fuel Injected and proven Snyder Motorsports Lencodrive and Coan Converter combination can do.”

“It has been about six years since we have competed at a NHRA National Event and seven since we hoisted a Wally, but that was a different class, Top Alcohol Funny Car.  It would be great to finish this weekend back on the stage with this new Top Sportsman deal.  My Son, Cam, is turning 4 years old on Sunday and he really wants a Wally for his birthday.  I can only hope we can deliver,” Snyder smiled.

The first of 2 rounds of qualifying for the NHRA AAA Insurance Midwest Nationals begins on Friday at 10:30 AM.  Qualifying continues on Saturday with the final chance to make the 32 car field beginning at 10:30 AM.  Final eliminations begin at noon on Saturday and finish up on Sunday afternoon.  For up to date information please log onto www.dragracecentral.com
