Team Half Fast begins their Fall Brawl
Howdie from the road! We’re currently camped at one of our favorite Tennessee State Parks – Cumberland Mountain – and drying out from a week of pouring rain.
The AMRA Clay Jones Memorial Nationals at Bowling Green was a bit of a success at the end of September, then we trekked to Edgar Evins Tennessee State Park for a week. It was beautiful there, but after just one or two hours after arriving on Monday it started raining for the entire week. Sunday morning it stopped and the sun started peaking through the clouds. Okay, it didn’t rain CONSTANTLY… but it was close. All of Chip’s fixes to the leaks in the trailer worked GREAT. We did have a couple of minor new leaks in the front of the trailer, and a few things got soaked. If it had only been one day of rain, we probably would never have noticed.
We had already booked Cumberland starting Sunday, so we just packed up and moved along to our next spot. As I type this, I’m sitting at the picnic table watching the cute little squirrels foraging nuts and birds and butterflies flittering by. It’s so beautiful. And dry! MAN, we were tired of that rain!!

Next? Our much-anticipated annual visit to the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Can’t wait!! And from there we will be traveling on to the AMRA Jim McClure Nitro Nationals at The Rock in Rockingham, North Carolina for the final race of the season. And race day will be our 12th wedding anniversary :). (which also means 14 years together… Wow.)
